“The Best” (in my opinion!) Honey Cookies
Everyone’s honey cookies are The Best — but trust me that these are really, really good…and so easy to make! Double or triple the recipe or you’ll be making them again in no time!

Every honey cookie and honey cake recipe I’ve ever come across has claimed to be the best. And you know what? In a way, they all are. These kinds of recipes carry so many emotional memories that they become the best for the person making them.
It’s like my challah. Over the years I’ve tried different recipes, but I always come back to my mother-in-law’s recipe that I’ve been making for so many years. I’ve also tried lots of different honey cakes and honey cookies just for the sake of variety, but I always end up coming back to my own recipes.
I’ve been making honey cookies since I was just a little girl. I used to make them with my younger brothers, and now I make them with my kids. To me, that first batch of honey cookies means summer is over and Rosh Hashanah is on the way!
These cookies are soft, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I especially love that they’re not too sweet, they freeze beautifully, and the batter is so easy to work with. Honestly, I’ll sometimes triple — or even quadruple — the recipe! The batter uses my Union Spice Blends Apple Crisp blend, which is a delicious blend of warm spices that goes perfectly with all kinds of baked goods. You can purchase the blend here, or you can also sub cinnamon and allspice, as listed in the recipe.
