Oven-Baked Sweet ‘n’ Salty Snacker S’mores
S’mores in the oven? Oh, yes! S’mores made with salty snack crackers instead of grahams? Yes again! Try these oven baked snacker s’mores for the ultimate sweet-and-salty summer treat!

Fact: You do not need a bonfire or fire pit to make s’mores.
Really.
I never used to make s’mores. I thought you needed some kind of outdoor fire, like a fire pit or bonfire, to make them. One summer night, my kids were begging me to make s’mores. I looked at them and said, “How do you expect me to make s’mores without a fire!?” and they just stood there waiting for their mother to come up with a magic solution, which I did! I decided to try to make them in the oven, under the broiler, and see what happened. And it worked!
Actually, the lack of fire wasn’t the only problem with our s’mores-making that day. I did not have any graham crackers on hand. I was desperately rummaging through my pantry, trying to figure out what I could substitute with. I caught sight of a sleeve of snack crackers and decided to try it with those instead.
I am usually not a sweet-and-salty person. One of my kids loves chocolate-covered pretzels, but they’re just not my thing. Since I like to keep my flavor profiles separate, I kind of assumed I wasn’t going to like these snacker s’mores too much. Well, guess what!? They were so good, and the broiling method worked so well, that this is how I’ve been making s’mores ever since — in the oven, with snack crackers. We don’t even bother with the graham crackers since we all love them with these little, round crispy salty crackers — even me! The saltiness of the crackers, the soft melted marshmallow, and the sweet, oozing chocolate chunks are the best combo you can ask for.

Note: When broiling, keep a very close eye on the s’mores so they don’t burn.
